Hello there all hyprenjoyers!

It’s that time again, where we are excited to announce yet another ricing competition!

As usual, we’re giving you 2 (and a half) weeks to make a new and original rice, based on the competition’s theme.

Prizes

1st:

• 100$ (paypal, crypto, cs2 skins) or equivalent in discord nitro
• README featuring of the rice
• one free issue/fr priority ticket (T&C apply)
• new splash of choice (T&C apply)
• discord role
• hall of fame on the website

2nd:

• 50$ (paypal, crypto, cs2 skins) or equivalent in discord nitro
• one free issue/fr priority ticket (T&C apply)
• discord role
• hall of fame on the website

3rd:

• 25$ (paypal, crypto, cs2 skins) or equivalent in discord nitro
• discord role
• hall of fame on the website

Rules of the competition

• the deadline is 5th June, 23:59 UTC.
• your submission must be original (no stealing of dotfiles)
• you cannot use your own existing dotfiles, but you can base your submission on your existing dotfiles.
• your dotfiles must become public at some point before the deadline. If you prefer to keep them private during the competition, that’s fine, edit your submission on the last day with the link if that’s what you prefer.
• your submission must stick to the theme of the competition.
• your submission must be a Hyprland rice. (workflow, other apps riced - OK, but can’t be sway / i3 / windows / blackboard / etc)
• your submission can be either a video or screenshot(s).
• no AI generated wallpapers allowed.

Submitting

• all submissions must be made in #ricing-competition-submissions on our Discord server. You are only allowed one rice submission in ONE message. You are allowed to delete your old submission and post a new one, or edit your submission until the deadline.
• If you do not use discord, you may also submit them on matrix #hyprland:matrix.vaxry.net.
• Multiple submissions = you are out

Rating

Jury TBD. Will be at least me, and probably fox / fuffie / mathbuilder, could be more.

Points (new revised rating scheme)

• 0 - 10 in total for adherence to the theme. 0 means you are out.
• 0 - 5 points from each jury for creativity
• 0 - 5 points from each jury for effort
• 0 - 5 discretionary points from each jury
• Bonus 0 - 3 in total for creative lua usage. Mention what you did with lua in your post’s description for these points.
• Bonus 0 - 3 overall points for something funny / an easter egg - but not forced, that’s cringe.
• Bonus 0.5 point for past winners of competitions (chess / rice)

The theme this time is MOON, as in Lua. 🌙

All of the above may change if yall tryna sneak around the rules.
